Because some folks (including me) find that the "prove you're not a computer" verification bit of these blogs is becoming increasingly frustrating to fill out ("Is that a 'c' or an 'e'?" "Are those numbers or letters?"), I have removed it from my comment box.
I hope this enhances our interactions!
Just make sure you have comment monitoring in place, Ellen. I have at least 10 SPAM messages daily. I removed the word verification from my blog because readers complained, and now I know how many false comments come through every day. It's a pain to delete them all, but if it makes it easier for readers to comment, it's worth it. It seems the verification words are getting more and more difficult to decipher.
ReplyDeleteAll comments go to my email for approval before appearing. Like you, I've gotten some very interesting ones that, after puzzling over them, get deleted.
DeleteI don't often comment, but just want to say how much I enjoy your writings and photos. It's great to see someone else enjoying the natural world and pointing out things I don't see on my own. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jane. It's always nice to hear from lurkers. I, myself, lurk on quite a number of blogs, so I know exactly what you mean.
ReplyDeleteI guess I'm a lurker, too. I do come and read, but don't often leave comments. I also enjoy your photos. I know Ian follows your blog on occasions, too.
ReplyDeleteMy wordpress acct seems to filter out most spam comments automatically. I only see a few that it misses. That's a beautiful photo on your header!
